How your order leaves our workshop in Wenzhou, what we handle, what you handle, and what happens if something arrives wrong.
1. Incoterms we quote
| FOB Ningbo / Shanghai | Goods loaded on board at the named Chinese port, export clearance. Not included: freight, insurance, import clearance, duties. |
|---|---|
| CIF | FOB plus freight and marine insurance to the named destination port. Not included: import clearance, duties, final-mile delivery. |
| DDP | Freight, import clearance, duties and final-mile delivery to your address. |
DDP is available to Europe and North America. If your finance team needs a delivered price rather than a port price, say so when you ask for the quote and we will price it as DDP.
If you already have a freight forwarder and an account we can ship against, tell us. Under FOB we can load against your forwarder's instructions at no extra charge.
2. Lead times
| Quotation | 1–2 working days from specification |
|---|---|
| Sample | 7–10 days from confirmed artwork |
| Production | 25–35 days after sample approval |
| Transit | Depends on route and mode; quoted with your shipment |
- These are the lead times we commit to on a first enquiry without checking. Where a project needs longer, we say so in the quotation.
- Production runs from the later of sample approval and deposit receipt.
- If you have a fixed in-market date, give it to us with the enquiry. We will tell you whether the schedule holds before you commit, not after.
3. Freight and how we ship
- Sea freight is the normal method for container volumes. Cheapest per unit, longest transit.
- Air freight is used for samples, urgent reorders and light, high-value items.
- Courier (DHL, FedEx, UPS) is used for samples, tooling and small orders.
- We ship from Ningbo or Shanghai. Tell us which port or airport suits your route and we will quote accordingly.
4. Consolidation and mixed containers
- Mixed containers are one of the main reasons buyers work with us. Document filing, desk storage, presentation folders, notebooks, packaging, sample books — combined in a single shipment.
- Per-item minimums drop when your volumes consolidate into one shipment.
- One inspection report and one set of documents apply to the whole order, not to each item in it.
- Where a single item is ready well before the rest, we will tell you, and you can decide whether to hold it for consolidation or ship it separately.
5. Shipping documents
Every shipment goes out with:
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list
- Bill of lading or air waybill
- Certificate of origin, where the destination requires one
- Any compliance or test documents we actually hold for the items in the order
Your broker sees one supplier, not six. Where an order contains items from several product lines, the paperwork is issued as a single set.
Branding, packaging and barcoding are applied before the goods are packed, so everything arrives retail-ready instead of needing a second handler.
6. Duties, taxes and customs
- Under FOB and CIF, import duties, taxes and customs clearance in the destination country are the buyer's responsibility.
- Under DDP, we handle them and they are included in the quoted price.
- Where a destination requires specific labelling, marking or certification, tell us at the enquiry stage. Requirements identified after the goods are packed may mean reworking the packing at your cost.
- Goods are shipped with origin China. We do not issue documents stating any other origin.
7. Inspection before dispatch
- Every order ships under one inspection report using the AQL and checklist agreed on the order.
- The report includes a photo record of the goods as packed.
- Where you have appointed a third-party inspection company, we will make the goods available for inspection at our workshop. The inspection cost is borne by the buyer; we will accommodate the schedule where we have reasonable notice.
8. If something is wrong — claims
This section applies to damaged, short or non-conforming goods. It is written for business-to-business trade, where goods are made to order rather than sold from stock.
- Inspect on arrival. Please check the consignment against the packing list before the goods are moved onward or unpacked for distribution.
- Notify us within 14 days of arrival. Send the container or waybill number, the item, the quantity affected and photographs. Email sales01@jmzglobal.com.
- We respond within 2 working days with either a proposed remedy or a request for further information.
- Where the claim is established, we will, at our option and after discussing it with you: replace the affected goods in the next production run, credit the value against your next order, or refund the value of the affected goods.
- Where goods are covered by transit insurance (CIF, or your own policy under FOB), also lodge the claim with the carrier or insurer. We will supply the documents you need. Please note the deadlines in your policy — carrier claims frequently have shorter notice periods than ours.
- We may ask to inspect the affected goods, or to have them returned to us or to a third party for examination, before settling.
What is not a claim: normal variation within the tolerances agreed at sample approval; goods made exactly to the artwork or specification you approved; goods damaged after arrival; goods reworked, relabelled or repackaged by you or a third party.
9. Returns
- We do not operate a consumer returns policy, and we do not accept returns of correctly supplied custom goods. Custom goods bear your branding and cannot be resold.
- Returns are accepted only where goods are established to be non-conforming, and by prior written agreement. Please do not ship anything back before we have agreed the return in writing — unarranged returns cannot be cleared and may be abandoned at the port.
- Where we agree a return, we will state who arranges and pays for the collection as part of the remedy.
10. Changes and cancellation
- Before sample approval: changes to specification, quantity or artwork are normally possible at no charge; tooling already produced may still be chargeable.
- After sample approval, before production starts: changes may be possible depending on material already ordered. We will confirm in writing what can be changed and what it costs.
- After production starts: changes are normally not possible. Custom materials will have been cut and printed.
- Cancellation: the deposit covers materials and tooling committed. What is refundable on cancellation depends on how far the order has progressed, and we will state it in writing when you ask.
