Sample Book with Handle, Open View
A sample book with a carry handle, shown open in use: the pages lie flat so a buyer can compare several samples at once while the book is held or rested. The flat-open behaviour comes from the binding, which is the specification that separates a working sample book from a bound reference volume.
- Flat-open binding
- Hold open one-handed
- Reinforced handle

What this one is
Handle and flat-open binding
A sample book is used by laying it open and comparing samples across a spread, so the binding has to hold the pages flat rather than letting them curl back. Combined with a carry handle, the book can be held open in one hand while a buyer points at a sample with the other — which is how it is actually used on a sales visit. Binding type, page count and swatch size are specified to your range, and the handle is reinforced to carry the loaded book.
- Flat-open binding — Pages lie flat so samples can be compared across a spread.
- Hold open one-handed — Handle lets the book stay open while a sample is pointed out.
- Reinforced handle — Rated to carry the loaded book.
- Structure to spec — Binding, page count and swatch size quoted to your range.
Where it gets used
Why the binding matters on a sample book
A book that will not lie flat turns every comparison into a two-handed struggle, and buyers stop using it. Sales teams presenting textiles, surfaces and finishes need a spread to stay open on a table. This version is chosen where the book is used interactively rather than simply handed over.
What we can change for you
Your real swatches, in a book that lasts
This item is not picked off a shelf. Every part of it is specified before it is made, and these are the parts buyers change most often on a colour cards & sample books programme. Send whatever you have — a drawing, a photo of a sample you like, or a rough sketch — and we quote against it.
- Format — Binder, fan deck, carry-handle book, hanging book, boxed set or loose-leaf sheet set.
- Cover — Bookcloth, paperboard, Oxford fabric, PVC or PU, with a printed or foiled title.
- Interior — Fabric patches, leather swatches, colour chips, printed data pages or a mix of all three.
- Mechanism — Ring, rivet, screw post, velcro or removable pages with a punch pattern you choose.
- Branding — Foil, debossing, screen print, woven label or a printed spine.
- Packing — Individual box, printed sleeve, shrink wrap or carton only.
Anything not on this list is a question rather than a no. We work from your artwork or a rough sketch, and cutting dies and covers are engineered in-house — so a change costs you a conversation, not a new supplier.
How your order is made
Tooling, printing and binding on our own line
A sample book is a physical argument, so the swatch is attached by hand where the material needs it. We proof the data pages against your list before the run and keep an approved master for reprints.
- Tooling and dies — cutting dies and covers are engineered in-house, so a change to the shape is a conversation rather than a new supplier.
- Printing and finishing — offset and screen printing, foil stamping, blind debossing, spot UV and edge painting all run on site.
- In-line QC — checks at cutting, stitching and packing, not only at the end. You get the inspection photos before the cartons close.
- Export and documentation — cartons, pallets, labelling and shipping documents prepared to your forwarder specification. 94.8% of what we make is exported.

How to order
From spec to shipment in four steps
Most buyers have a sketch, a sample, or a brief. We turn it into a confirmed sample and then into a repeatable production run.
Product type, dimensions, quantity, logo, and deadline — even a photo is enough.
Unit price, tooling, sample cost, and lead time — usually within one working day.
We make a physical sample for your review before anything goes to bulk.
In-line QC, pre-shipment photos, then packed and shipped to your forwarder.

Working with us
Files, tooling and terms
The same terms apply to this item and to the rest of your order, so the budget and the schedule can be planned before anything is committed.
- Artwork — Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF or CDR) are what embossing, foil and screen print need. A photo, a sketch or a physical sample is enough to start — we tell you before anything is charged if a file has to be rebuilt.
- Tooling — Charged only when the item needs a new mould, die or deboss plate. It is quoted separately and stated upfront — never added later.
- Samples — A stock sample is free (you cover the courier). A customised sample is chargeable and the cost is credited against the production order once it is confirmed.
- Payment — Invoiced in US dollars from our company account. Standard terms are T/T — 30% deposit, 70% before shipment — or an L/C at sight for container orders.
- Shipping — FOB Ningbo or Shanghai, CIF, and DDP to Europe and North America. DDP includes duties and final-mile delivery.
- Mixed containers — Several categories can ship in one container, which is how buyers keep the quantity per item down while still filling a shipment.
- Confidentiality — We sign an NDA before you send drawings.
- Documents — One inspection report and one set of documents cover the whole order, whatever the mix of items.
Buyer questions
Will the pages lie flat?
Yes. The binding is chosen to hold the pages flat across a spread.
Can it be used on a table as well as held?
Yes. It lies flat on a table and the handle allows it to be held open.
Is a version without a handle available?
Yes. The same book is produced with a plain spine.
Can the swatches be real material rather than printed?
Yes. Fabric, leather, TPU and film swatches are cut from the real material and attached — that is what makes the book survive a buyer handling it.
Can pages be replaced without rebinding?
Yes. Ring, post and velcro formats let single pages be swapped, which is normally cheaper than reprinting a bound book every season.
How do you keep the printed page matching the real material?
We match the printed block to the physical swatch and keep an approved master. Reprints are matched to that master.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Sample books start from 300 pieces. The exact minimum for this item is confirmed with your quote.
Can the book ship with the goods it describes?
Yes, and it usually does — the swatch book and the production order ship together as one shipment with one set of documents.
