Custom Index Tabs and Page Dividers
Custom index tabs and page dividers, cut and printed so a binder can be navigated by section. The tab positions are the specification: they have to align with the ring mechanism and step down the page edge so no tab hides another.

What this one is
Printed index tabs and dividers
The dividers are cut to the page size with tabs set at staggered positions down the edge, so every section is reachable without moving the pages. Tab positions are calculated from the ring mechanism and the number of sections, which is why a set of dividers is specified rather than bought as a stock item. Each divider is printed with its section name, and the material is chosen by weight: light board for a reference binder, heavier board for a manual that is flipped through daily. Section count, tab positions and board weight are specified to your binder.
- Staggered tab positions — Every section reachable without moving the pages.
- Aligned to the mechanism — Tab positions calculated from the ring count and spacing.
- Printed per section — Each divider carries its own section name.
- Board weight to use — Lighter for reference, heavier for daily handling.
Where it gets used
Who orders index tabs
Publishers use them in manuals and catalogues where a reader has to find a section quickly. Training providers use them to separate modules. Accountants and legal teams use them for document sets with defined sections. The staggered tab geometry is why the set is specified rather than bought off the shelf.
What we can change for you
Aligned with the pages behind them
This item is not picked off a shelf. Every part of it is specified before it is made, and these are the parts buyers change most often on a index tabs & dividers programme. Send whatever you have — a drawing, a photo of a sample you like, or a rough sketch — and we quote against it.
- Tab count and position — Any number of tabs at the positions your section list needs.
- Punch pattern — 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 or 11-hole punched to your binder mechanism.
- Stock — Board, PP or laminated paper, in the weight you specify.
- Printing — Printed both sides, in your colours, with a reinforced tab edge if needed.
- Finish — Gloss, matte, laminated or coated for repeated handling.
- Packing — Poly bag, retail set with a header, or collated into the binder order.
Anything not on this list is a question rather than a no. We work from your artwork or a rough sketch, and cutting dies and covers are engineered in-house — so a change costs you a conversation, not a new supplier.
How your order is made
Tooling, printing and binding on our own line
Tab positions are set to your section list and matched to the page protectors we supply, so the printed tab lines up with the page behind it instead of drifting.
- Tooling and dies — cutting dies and covers are engineered in-house, so a change to the shape is a conversation rather than a new supplier.
- Printing and finishing — offset and screen printing, foil stamping, blind debossing, spot UV and edge painting all run on site.
- In-line QC — checks at cutting, stitching and packing, not only at the end. You get the inspection photos before the cartons close.
- Export and documentation — cartons, pallets, labelling and shipping documents prepared to your forwarder specification. 94.8% of what we make is exported.

How to order
From spec to shipment in four steps
Most buyers have a sketch, a sample, or a brief. We turn it into a confirmed sample and then into a repeatable production run.
Product type, dimensions, quantity, logo, and deadline — even a photo is enough.
Unit price, tooling, sample cost, and lead time — usually within one working day.
We make a physical sample for your review before anything goes to bulk.
In-line QC, pre-shipment photos, then packed and shipped to your forwarder.

Working with us
Files, tooling and terms
The same terms apply to this item and to the rest of your order, so the budget and the schedule can be planned before anything is committed.
- Artwork — Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF or CDR) are what embossing, foil and screen print need. A photo, a sketch or a physical sample is enough to start — we tell you before anything is charged if a file has to be rebuilt.
- Tooling — Charged only when the item needs a new mould, die or deboss plate. It is quoted separately and stated upfront — never added later.
- Samples — A stock sample is free (you cover the courier). A customised sample is chargeable and the cost is credited against the production order once it is confirmed.
- Payment — Invoiced in US dollars from our company account. Standard terms are T/T — 30% deposit, 70% before shipment — or an L/C at sight for container orders.
- Shipping — FOB Ningbo or Shanghai, CIF, and DDP to Europe and North America. DDP includes duties and final-mile delivery.
- Mixed containers — Several categories can ship in one container, which is how buyers keep the quantity per item down while still filling a shipment.
- Confidentiality — We sign an NDA before you send drawings.
- Documents — One inspection report and one set of documents cover the whole order, whatever the mix of items.
Buyer questions
How are tab positions decided?
From the ring count and spacing plus the number of sections, so every tab is reachable. Tell us the binder and section list.
Can each tab be printed differently?
Yes. Each divider is printed with its own section name.
What board weight should we use?
Lighter board for a reference binder, heavier for a manual handled daily. Tell us the use and we recommend one.
Can the tab positions match the page protectors you supply?
Yes, and we prefer to set them together. Tabs that do not line up with the pages behind them are the most common complaint on a tabbed binder.
How do I know the punch pattern will fit our binder?
Send the hole pitch and diameter, or a used sheet from the binder. We match the punch to your mechanism rather than to a standard.
Can the tabs be reinforced where they get handled?
Yes. A reinforced or laminated tab edge costs a little more and is what stops the tab dog-earing in a binder that is used daily.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Minimums are set per item; low unit-price accessories carry a higher minimum than leather programmes. The exact figure is confirmed with your quote.
Can the divider set ship inside the binder?
Yes. Collating dividers, protectors and binders into one packed unit is routine.
