What this one is
Chinese-style gift box set
The notebook is A5 and bound with the motif applied across the cover, and the box is printed to match, so the item reads as a designed object rather than a notebook with a pattern on it. Because the motif is the product, the artwork is the part that matters: it is set from your reference and can be drawn from a traditional or a contemporary source. Box construction, notebook page layout and the cover finish are specified to order.
- Cover and box match — One motif across the notebook and the box, so the set reads as designed.
- Motif from your reference — Traditional or contemporary artwork set from your direction.
- A5 bound notebook — Travel format with a bound rather than glued spine.
- Box construction to spec — Rigid or folding, specified to how it is given.
Where it gets used
Where a decorative gift set is used
Companies use them as gifts for visiting delegations and partners, where the presentation carries as much as the contents. Cultural and tourism bodies use them as a retail or protocol gift. Hotels use them for VIP guests. The motif is the reason for the purchase rather than the notebook itself.
What we can change for you
Every part of the book is yours to specify
This item is not picked off a shelf. Every part of it is specified before it is made, and these are the parts buyers change most often on a notebooks & journals programme. Send whatever you have — a drawing, a photo of a sample you like, or a rough sketch — and we quote against it.
- Format and size — A4, A5, A6 or B5, portrait or landscape, or a size cut to your drawing.
- Binding — Case-bound hardcover, soft cover, spiral, wire-o, sewn section or ring mechanism.
- Cover — Linen, paper, recycled board, kraft, PU, suede, cork or wood, with optional elastic closure, ribbon bookmark and pen loop.
- Inner pages — Ruled, dotted, grid, plain or a printed layout you supply; page count, paper weight and endpaper colour specified by you.
- Branding — Foil stamping, debossing, screen print, edge painting, head and tail bands, or a printed belly band.
- Extras — Expandable inner pocket, ribbon marker, elastic closure, pen loop, tabbed dividers, or a matching pen and gift box.
Anything not on this list is a question rather than a no. We work from your artwork or a rough sketch, and cutting dies and covers are engineered in-house — so a change costs you a conversation, not a new supplier.
How your order is made
Tooling, printing and binding on our own line
Cover board, endpapers and text block are specified together so the spine squares up after the first opening. Binding and foiling both run on our own line, which is what keeps a 5,000-piece run consistent.
- Tooling and dies — cutting dies and covers are engineered in-house, so a change to the shape is a conversation rather than a new supplier.
- Printing and finishing — offset and screen printing, foil stamping, blind debossing, spot UV and edge painting all run on site.
- In-line QC — checks at cutting, stitching and packing, not only at the end. You get the inspection photos before the cartons close.
- Export and documentation — cartons, pallets, labelling and shipping documents prepared to your forwarder specification. 94.8% of what we make is exported.

Factory audit report, material test reports and the pre-shipment inspection report are available on request — tell us which one your compliance team needs and we confirm it in writing.
How to order
From spec to shipment in four steps
Most buyers have a sketch, a sample, or a brief. We turn it into a confirmed sample and then into a repeatable production run.
Product type, dimensions, quantity, logo, and deadline — even a photo is enough.
Unit price, tooling, sample cost, and lead time — usually within one working day.
We make a physical sample for your review before anything goes to bulk.
In-line QC, pre-shipment photos, then packed and shipped to your forwarder.

Working with us
Files, tooling and terms
The same terms apply to this item and to the rest of your order, so the budget and the schedule can be planned before anything is committed.
- Artwork — Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF or CDR) are what embossing, foil and screen print need. A photo, a sketch or a physical sample is enough to start — we tell you before anything is charged if a file has to be rebuilt.
- Tooling — Charged only when the item needs a new mould, die or deboss plate. It is quoted separately and stated upfront — never added later.
- Samples — A stock sample is free (you cover the courier). A customised sample is chargeable and the cost is credited against the production order once it is confirmed.
- Payment — Invoiced in US dollars from our company account. Standard terms are T/T — 30% deposit, 70% before shipment — or an L/C at sight for container orders.
- Shipping — FOB Ningbo or Shanghai, CIF, and DDP to Europe and North America. DDP includes duties and final-mile delivery.
- Mixed containers — Several categories can ship in one container, which is how buyers keep the quantity per item down while still filling a shipment.
- Confidentiality — We sign an NDA before you send drawings.
- Documents — One inspection report and one set of documents cover the whole order, whatever the mix of items.
Buyer questions
Can the motif come from our own reference?
Yes. Send the artwork or a reference image and the motif is set from it.
Is the box rigid or folding?
Both are produced. Tell us how the set is given out and we recommend one.
Can the notebook be ordered without the box?
Yes. The notebook is supplied on its own as well.
Does the book lie flat when it is open?
That is decided by the binding, not by the paper. Tell us where it will be used — a kitchen counter, a meeting table, a warehouse — and we specify a binding that lies flat for that use.
Can the inner pages be printed to our layout?
Yes. Send the layout as a PDF with the trim size and bleed marked, and we will return a proof before the run.
What logo methods suit a linen or board cover?
Foil stamping and blind debossing are the sharpest, and both work on linen and on board. Screen print suits larger solid areas; on textured covers we test the impression before the run.
How is the price built up?
Page count, paper weight, cover material, binding, finishing and packing all move the price. That is why we quote per order rather than publishing a list price — send the specification and you get unit cost and lead time back.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Notebooks start from 500 pieces per design and colour. The exact minimum for this item is confirmed with your quote.
