PU Magnetic Portfolio with Clipboard
A PU magnetic portfolio with a clipboard built into one face. The clipboard holds a pad or a single sheet that can be written on standing up, while the magnetic cover keeps the folder closed in a bag. It combines the two most common folio functions in one object.

What this one is
Magnetic portfolio with clipboard
The clipboard is set into the interior face with a clip at the top, and a stiff panel behind it so a sheet can be written on without a table. The magnetic cover closes over it, which means the clipboard and the document pocket are protected in transit. Where a plain magnetic portfolio relies on the document pocket to hold loose paper, this version holds it under a clip as well, so a single sheet stays put while the folder is carried. Clip type and position are specified to order.
- Interior clipboard — Clip at the top with a stiff panel behind for writing standing up.
- Magnetic cover — Closes over the clipboard so contents are protected in transit.
- Single sheet under clip — A loose sheet stays put while the folder is carried.
- Clip type to spec — Metal or plastic clip, positioned to your requirement.
Where it gets used
Who needs a clip inside a magnetic folio
Surveyors, assessors and field sales staff write while standing, and a clip is the difference between a sheet staying put and being lost. Site and warehouse supervisors fill in forms on the move. Anyone who has tried to write on a loose sheet held against a folder recognises why the clipboard is specified separately from the document pocket.
What we can change for you
Made to your drawing, not to our catalogue
This item is not picked off a shelf. Every part of it is specified before it is made, and these are the parts buyers change most often on a portfolios & document cases programme. Send whatever you have — a drawing, a photo of a sample you like, or a rough sketch — and we quote against it.
- Outer size and orientation — A4, A5, Letter or Legal, portrait or landscape, or a size we cut to your drawing.
- Cover material and caliper — PU leather, bonded leather, linen or coated paper board — padded, semi-rigid or rigid, with the board thickness you specify.
- Closure — Zipper, magnetic flap, buckle, elastic strap or press stud. Zips can be nylon or metal, with a custom puller.
- Interior layout — Pockets, card slots, pen loop, A5 or A4 notepad, ring mechanism, document dividers, tablet sleeve, or a power-bank / wireless-charging module.
- Branding — Foil stamping, blind debossing, screen print, spot UV, edge painting or a metal badge.
- Hardware and trim — Metal corners, rivets, carry handle, contrast stitching, lining colour and edge-paint colour.
- Retail packing — Printed belly band, rigid gift box, PVC inner bag, hang tag — or carton only for bulk programmes.
Anything not on this list is a question rather than a no. We work from your artwork or a rough sketch, and cutting dies and covers are engineered in-house — so a change costs you a conversation, not a new supplier.
How your order is made
Tooling, printing and binding on our own line
Covers are cut and wrapped in our own workshop, and the zips, magnets or ring mechanisms are fitted on the same line. That is why the sampling date we give you is one we can hold.
- Tooling and dies — cutting dies and covers are engineered in-house, so a change to the shape is a conversation rather than a new supplier.
- Printing and finishing — offset and screen printing, foil stamping, blind debossing, spot UV and edge painting all run on site.
- In-line QC — checks at cutting, stitching and packing, not only at the end. You get the inspection photos before the cartons close.
- Export and documentation — cartons, pallets, labelling and shipping documents prepared to your forwarder specification. 94.8% of what we make is exported.

How to order
From spec to shipment in four steps
Most buyers have a sketch, a sample, or a brief. We turn it into a confirmed sample and then into a repeatable production run.
Product type, dimensions, quantity, logo, and deadline — even a photo is enough.
Unit price, tooling, sample cost, and lead time — usually within one working day.
We make a physical sample for your review before anything goes to bulk.
In-line QC, pre-shipment photos, then packed and shipped to your forwarder.

Working with us
Files, tooling and terms
The same terms apply to this item and to the rest of your order, so the budget and the schedule can be planned before anything is committed.
- Artwork — Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF or CDR) are what embossing, foil and screen print need. A photo, a sketch or a physical sample is enough to start — we tell you before anything is charged if a file has to be rebuilt.
- Tooling — Charged only when the item needs a new mould, die or deboss plate. It is quoted separately and stated upfront — never added later.
- Samples — A stock sample is free (you cover the courier). A customised sample is chargeable and the cost is credited against the production order once it is confirmed.
- Payment — Invoiced in US dollars from our company account. Standard terms are T/T — 30% deposit, 70% before shipment — or an L/C at sight for container orders.
- Shipping — FOB Ningbo or Shanghai, CIF, and DDP to Europe and North America. DDP includes duties and final-mile delivery.
- Mixed containers — Several categories can ship in one container, which is how buyers keep the quantity per item down while still filling a shipment.
- Confidentiality — We sign an NDA before you send drawings.
- Documents — One inspection report and one set of documents cover the whole order, whatever the mix of items.
Buyer questions
What kind of clip is used?
A metal clip is standard. A plastic clip can be fitted where weight or cost matters.
Can the clipboard be removed?
It is built into the interior face as standard. A removable version can be quoted.
Does the folder close with a pad on the clipboard?
Yes. The interior depth allows for a pad under the clip with the cover closed.
Can you work from a sample or a photo instead of a drawing?
Yes. A photo of a competitor’s sample, a physical sample or a rough sketch is enough to start. We return a written specification for approval before any tooling is cut.
Which logo methods can be used on the cover?
Foil stamping, blind debossing, screen print, spot UV or a metal badge. On PU we adjust the debossing depth to the sheet thickness so the impression stays sharp and does not crack along the fold.
Will a reorder match the first run?
We hold the approved specification on file — material, caliper, lining, foil colour, stitch and packing — and manufacture repeat orders against it instead of starting over.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Minimums are set per item and depend on material, tooling and finish. This item starts from 300 pcs; the exact minimum is confirmed with your quote.
How do you stop the cover from cracking at the spine?
Board caliper and hinge allowance are specified together, not separately. On padded covers we add a hinge allowance at the fold, which is where most portfolios fail first.
